The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) regulated by the EU is now established as a leading Environmental Management System. Since its inception in 1995, over 4500 organisations and 7800 sites are now EMAS registered across Europe.

Participants of EMAS will benefit from enhanced:

  • Environmental performance
  • Risk management
  • Credibility, transparency and reputation
  • Financial performance

Go4EMAS will provide your organization with the best practice required for good environmental management using a 4 step methodology to address the EMAS requirements.

SMEs from the three target sectors (metal working, surface treatment and manufacturing of electric/electronic components) will be guided through the process with four structured workshops, EMAS clubs and other support services.

Please note that ISO14001 and EMAS are complementary Environmental Management Systems. If you are working towards or are already ISO14001 certified, this can be used as a stepping stone to EMAS registration.

Go4EMAS is a Specific Action two year project delivered by the Enterprise Europe Network to help SMEs. The Enterprise Europe Network helps small business to make the most of the European marketplace. Working through local business organisations across the EU and beyond, we can help you develop your business in new markets, find opportunities for new technology, provide information on doing business in the EU and help you to access EU funding. For further information and to find your local access point, please visit the Enterprise Europe Network website by clicking here.
